Concept design for the commemorative coin 100 years TT Assen.
The portrait and image sides of the coin show a panoramic view of the famous Geert Timmer chicane, the last corner before the finish line. This GT corner has played a key role in the history of the TT Assen. The panorama showcases the beauty of the track in an elegant, winding line. Three motorcycles are riding in the chicane, which together represent the competitive element of the sport and also reference the history of the event:
the riders represent different eras of motorsport.
On the portrait side, Willem-Alexander is depicted in his role as a supporter of Dutch sport and its athletes. A role in which the king connects sport, supporters, and the people.
